The Family

Who We Are

Joyful family photo with a backdrop of green and yellow balloons, celebrating at a Highland cow farm event, capturing a moment of happiness.

Tracy & Mark Gosney

Founders of the Highland Cow Farm

In 24 years, we have walked the journey of married life and been blessed with three wonderful children. The journey has been nothing but shared love of Angus cattle, yet an aspiration for something heartwarmingly exclusive. That quest ultimately led to the realm of Highland cattle, to which we both totally clicked on that very first day. This love for them bloomed into our Highland cow farm, Hilltop Highlands, started as we were transitioning from our roots in tobacco farming. We embraced this chance and amalgamated our way of life with the giant gentle ones, acquainting many with their magic and the charm of life in the Highlands.

Dustin Wanner

Son, Project Manager and Owner of Homegrown Marketing Solutions

When he completed high school, he left for the farm and for a vocation in project management. Yet, the old saying holds true: you can take the boy out of the farm, but the essence of the farm will still cling to the boy in a way. Embrace this, back came Dustin—not to the fields, but as our digital maestro, chaperoning our way through finesse in social media and online presence. His world is now joyously mingled with the life and days of our grandson, Weslee, filled with adventures on a tractor and forming close, unbreakable bonds with one another and baby cows, personifying the spirit and future of our Highland cow farm.

Jenna Gosney

Daughter, Entrepreneur, and Farmhand

Jenna, the middle gem, had grown a very rooted love for cattle over the years of showing cattle at fairs in her high school life. She made her way back to EKU and honed real skills in Veterinary Animal Science. Even her first track was a huge detour towards the niche of cacti and succulents that would get her entrepreneurial spirit. Today, she's weaving her love for these resilient plants into her own thriving business. Her heart, though, is still on the farm, where she perfects her prowess, yet still sells our Angus beef at the local farmers' market. She's the epitome of a Highland Cow Farm—versatile.

Nate Gosney

Son, Entrepreneur, and Farmhand

Right out of high school, he took up the farm life with the same gusto that he had heard was an echo of deep passion in our family. His participation with our cattle at local fairs has been constant, but his talents go far beyond the agriculture spectrum. That skill of welding, inherited from Mark, has, on the other hand, become his strength, and he conquered it with similar ease and precision as though it's in his veins. His level of adeptness suggests not just a passing interest but an actual development into a true welding virtuoso, able and indeed only too willing to naturally and freely make use of this trade within the fabric of our Highland cow farm's daily workings.
